A transaction’s risk level is based on factors like the merchant’s reputation, chargeback history, and reports submitted by users.

High-risk descriptors may be linked to gambling, vague or masked merchant names, or frequent refund patterns, and could deserve a closer look.

However, a high-risk label doesn’t automatically mean fraud — there may be legitimate reasons behind the charge. Check the details first before taking steps like blocking your card.
